The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) is a Government body which has a statutory duty to protect the environment and human health by monitoring waste management and disposal facilities. Their powers range from waste data reporting to enforcing European compliance schemes.

Zero Waste Scotland

Zero Waste Scotland

The Zero Waste Scotland programme is funded by the Scottish Government to support delivery of its Zero Waste Plan. The programme integrates the activities of other current programmes: Waste Aware Scotland; Envirowise Scotland; Remade Scotland; Keep Scotland Beautiful; NISP; and the Community Recycling Network for Scotland.

Scottish Futures Trust

The Scottish Futures Trust is a Government-owned company set up to improve public infrastructure investment. A representative of SFT sits on the Zero Waste: Edinburgh and Midlothian project board to provide support and advice on procurement issues.

Health Protection Scotland

Health Protection Scotland is a division of NHS National Services Scotland. They plan and deliver effective and specialist national services which co-ordinate, strengthen and support activities aimed at protecting all the people of Scotland from infectious and environmental hazards.
